Newfoundlands love to swim and actually have webbed feet! There was once a Newfoundland that weighed 260 pounds. Newfoundlands have often rescued drowning people by swimming to them and pulling them out of the water. The artist Sir Edwin Landseer often painted Newfoundlands and one color variation of the breed is now called Landseer.
