    Nessie is a 4 year old purebred Newfoundland that was surrendered by her owner. She has been spayed and brought up to date on everything. Nessie is a Special Needs dog. She has had chronic diarrhea for 2 years. She has been to numerous vets and specialists for her problem and it is controlled somewhat with a special diet and medication. Nessie is very sweet and affectionate and loves everyone. She is housebroken and will let you know when she has to go out but it would be better if she went to a home where someone is home most of the time. We are looking for a family,individual or even another Newfie Rescue that will be able to ... (Read More)financially afford her veterinary care and give her lots of love and attention. Her adoption fee is negotiable to the right adopter. She is on prescription diet W/D and 3 different medications for her diarrhea and sadly we are struggling to maintain her special needs. She will come with a bag of W/D, a good supply of her medication and complete vet records. Serous inquires only! Please no tips or suggestions on changing her diet or medication. Newfoundland dogs are remarkably sweet, gentle, and devoted. Newfs are absolutely wonderful with children. Newfoundlands need to be with their people. This intelligent breed is protective and intuitive. Newfoundlands have been known to rescue people from danger, especially from drowning. Newfoundlands can live in an apartment or in a home with a small yard. Newfs need to be protected from hot temperatures.

A Newfoundland rescued Napoleon when he fell overboard while trying to escape from Elba.
